Abstract

The article addresses the importance of knowledge of the behavior of dynamic Vibration absorbers in explosion engines, especially in diesel engines, due to their high compression ratio and more severe vibration levels. The method presented has as its main attribute the simplicity and speed, being important for quality control, production process and fault diagnosis. The control is done on the tuning of the system and the damping constant, through a test bench that makes the system vibrate freely and analyzes the movement in the frequency or time domain. In the case of viscous absorbers, it is necessary to add a restoring element to allow oscillation from an initial external excitation, so that the oscillatory motion can be studied and the damping constant determined. The comparative method associated with the simplicity of a device can offer numerous advantages over the method that determines absolute values of the constants. The study of durability is usually a function of time, i.e., mileage traveled or number of hours of test bench testing. The applicability of a control and diagnostic system for Absorbers depends on the duration of the test and analysis, and the quality of the results. The presented method proved to be practical and efficient for failure diagnosis in viscous absorbers.
