Abstract

In this article, according to the ISO 3744:2010 standard, the sound power levels, in dBA, of two urban buses in the stationary condition, in acceleration, are calculated. Different measurement configurations were tested using a reference box, in the form of a parallelepiped on a reflective plane, in order to verify the possibility of simplifying power measurement. The values obtained for the sound power levels remain close for the different configurations, suggesting that the simplest ones can be used to measure the sound power of these vehicles and similar ones.
