Historical evolution and limitations of soundscape studies in urban parks in Curitiba – Paraná

This study aims to identify the limitations of soundscape studies in urban parks in the city of Curitiba, Paraná, through a review of environmental acoustics studies carried out there. A search was made for academic papers on the themes of urban parks, environmental noise, and soundscape in the repository of the Federal University of Paraná, and the papers carried out at the Laboratory of Environmental Acoustics - Industrial and Acoustic Comfort (LAAICA) were identified. Through the results, it was possible to observe the historical evolution of soundscape studies in urban parks, their limitations, and the main conclusions of each study. The main limitations found in the studies presented were the lack of urban planning and the interference of other environmental and personal factors in sound perception.
